As we continue to work toward restoring this historic gem, we’re excited to announce that the next phase of renovations for the Napoleon Bonaparte McCanless House is officially underway. This phase will transform the main house into a luxurious boutique hotel and versatile event venue—continuing our mission to preserve the castle’s rich history while offering unforgettable experiences.

What’s New at Bonaparte Castle?

The fully renovated Tavern and the newly remodeled outdoor grounds and gardens are already open for business, providing a breathtaking setting for both large outdoor gatherings and intimate indoor events. Guests can explore the beautiful outdoor spaces and enjoy the charm of Bonaparte Castle's historical backdrop for weddings, corporate events, and more.

 

Situated in Historic Salisbury, Bonaparte Castle is in a prime location for hosting events that serve the Charlotte and Greensboro markets, making it a convenient and elegant venue choice for clients in these major areas.

But that’s just the beginning.

We are proud to announce that renovations of the main house are on track to be completed by Spring 2025. Once finished, the house will feature five stately bedrooms, multiple reception and parlor rooms, and a gourmet kitchen. The kitchen will serve as a centerpiece for intimate dinners, where guests can indulge in exclusive dining experiences prepared by featured chefs, making every event truly unforgettable.

Salisbury, NC  – February17, 2022 - Bonaparte Castle, LLC, a proposed weddings, events, and hospitality venue, today announced it has received approval from the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to commence massive renovation project at 619 S. Main Street. According to a market research report published on December 7, 2021 by IBISWorld , the wedding services industry is currently a $57 billion industry. As noted in the chart below, the industry fell from $96 billion in 2016 to $45 billion during the COVID pandemic shutdowns in 2020.
